Janet is teaching private lessons
and vocal classes!

"My philosophy on teaching is that everyone has a natural voice and can improve his/her own vocal quality, tone, range, and style. Taking vocal lessons can also enhance one's self-confidence in singing as well as in other aspects of life."

Janet has a very holistic style of teaching which incorporates stretching, breathing, and visualizing exercises with vocal warm ups that build range, control, and tonal placement. This has shown to be the basis for vastly improved vocal technique. By developing good habits and abandoning old ones, she has helped her students make great progress.

She teaches lessons from her home studio or will come to your house. If you don't have a piano, that's not a problem. She will bring her own keyboard. The ages of her students range from 8 to 64 so all are welcome.

She also teaches classes at Palomar College in San Marcos. Currently she is teaching the Fundamentals of Vocal Skills class, a Popular Vocal Techniques class, and Spectrum Vocal Jazz Singers, as well as some private students in the applied music program. Many of her students are becoming followers. The Vocal Skills and Popular Vocal Techniques classes offer the student a chance to sing in front of his or her peers as they go through the learning process in a safe environment as well as developing good techniques, style, and a basic understanding of how the human voice works. The Spectrum Vocal Jazz Singers is a performing ensemble that meets twice a week and performs some of the greatest arrangements of the vocal jazz idiom.
